My First Brand Audit Presentation at CDA Academy—Chaos, Glitches & Lessons Learned

They say presentations test your confidence. What they don’t tell you is that when doing these online presentations, your WiFi, your laptop, and your patience are tested first.

This week, we had our very first brand audit presentation at CDA Academy. Each team had exactly 12 minutes. Simple enough, right? Except when you mix students, slides, nervous energy, and shaky internet connections—12 minutes magically turn into 25. (And half of that is spent saying, “Hello? Can you hear me? You’re on mute!”)

The Online Presentation Drama

Every team had its own style:

  •  One team wowed with infographics so neat it felt like Canva itself was their teammate.
  •  Another kept it short and crisp.
  •  Some went heavy on data.

And then there was the rest of us… trying to talk fast enough to beat the clock while praying our WiFi didn’t betray us mid-sentence.

At least one person froze on camera (literally), another’s audio sounded like a robot remix, and someone shared the wrong screen. Real-life trauma of online presenting, but hey—we powered through.

Things I Learned (survival guide for online presentations)

  • Time doesn’t wait, and WiFi doesn’t care.
  • Practice your part with a stopwatch and a backup hotspot. Both are lifesavers.
  • Mute button = silent killer.

Check it twice before you start your “big moment,” or you’ll just see people waving in the chat:

       “We can’t hear you!”

  • Slides are sidekicks, not superheroes.
If you’re just reading from them, you might as well email the judges a PDF. Tell the story.

  • Team coordination matters.

Otherwise, it feels like passing the mic in a bad Zoom karaoke night. Sync your flow.

  • Glitches are normal.

Every single person goes through it. The trick is to laugh, improvise, and act like nothing ever                 happened.

The Best Part

Each squad accomplished it in its own unique way despite all the challenges. Nervous? Of course. However, no one showed it . We smiled, improvised, and somehow managed to transform chaos into confidence.

A special thanks goes out to Ms. Neha, who keeps us alert, adds excitement to content marketing, and motivates us to overcome any obstacles (both mental and technological).

My Final Thought

Our first online presentation wasn’t perfect—it had overtime, shaky voices, frozen screens, and mute button tragedies. But it was ours. We survived it, learned from it, and actually had fun along the way.

Next time, we’ll aim for fewer glitches, better timing… and maybe a little less trauma.

(But then again, where’s the story in that?)
