When Google Became My Nosy Neighbor (and SEO My Daily Drama)

Image
Today at CDA Academy, Ms. Vidya pulled back the curtain on the wild world of SEO—Search Engine Optimization. Sounds heavy, right? But halfway through class, I realised SEO is just life in disguise. If you’ve ever tried to  hide snacks from your siblings, outsmart your mom, or keep a group chat alive. Congratulations, you already know a thing or two about SEO. Let's check it out: Types of SEO = The People in Your Life On-Page SEO – The selfie king/queen.  Obsessed with looking good. Titles, captions, keywords… It’s all about that first-glance magic. Off-Page SEO – The social butterfly.  This one doesn’t just stay pretty; they network like crazy, so everyone talks about them. Technical SEO – The quiet genius.  Doesn’t care about glam but makes sure the Wi-Fi (or website) never crashes. No them, no party. Sound familiar? Your friend group probably has all three. 🕵️ Algorithms = Google’s Secret Detectives Google isn’t just a search box—it’s a team of unde...

SEO Explained : Like ordering food online

Image
Today’s session was about the 3 steps of how a search engine works. Honestly, most of us came in nervous—SEO sounds so complicated, and on top of that, we’re still stuck searching for the “perfect keyword” (yes, the long-tail one with SV 10 and SD 30). It feels like ordering food when you don’t even know what you’re craving. But once we connected it to something we all do—ordering food online—the steps made complete sense. 1. Crawling  Imagine opening Swiggy or Zomato. The app “crawls” through hundreds of restaurants near you, scanning menus. Search engines do the same: bots (spiders) scan websites across the internet, collecting details about pages. 2. Indexing  Now, all those restaurant menus are stored neatly in the app. Next time you type “Burger,” the app doesn’t need to go find menus again—it already has them indexed. Similarly, search engines organize all the crawled website data into a giant library called the index. 3. Ranking  Finally, when you search for “Best ...

My First Brand Audit Presentation at CDA Academy—Chaos, Glitches & Lessons Learned

Image
They say presentations test your confidence. What they don’t tell you is that when doing these online presentations, your WiFi, your laptop, and your patience are tested first. This week, we had our very first brand audit presentation at CDA Academy. Each team had exactly 12 minutes. Simple enough, right? Except when you mix students, slides, nervous energy, and shaky internet connections—12 minutes magically turn into 25. (And half of that is spent saying, “Hello? Can you hear me? You’re on mute!”)  The Online Presentation Drama Every team had its own style:  One team wowed with infographics so neat it felt like Canva itself was their teammate.  Another kept it short and crisp.  Some went heavy on data.  And then there was the rest of us… trying to talk fast enough to beat the clock while praying our WiFi didn’t betray us mid-sentence. At least one person froze on camera (literally), another’s audio sounded like a robot remix, and someone shared the wrong scree...

SEO or Content Marketing ? The Answer Will Surprise You !

Image
Hi Everyone, I am your friendly CDA intern here from batch ODM20, currently navigating the wonderful (and sometimes confusing) world of content marketing. In case you’re reading this, it means I’ve managed to publish a blog post without breaking the internet. Small wins, people.   Our amazing Ms. Neha gave us this task: go find out what people are actually searching for on AnswerThePublic, Quora, and Reddit. I headed over to AnswerThePublic (a seriously cool tool, by the way—it's like reading the mind of the internet) and found one question popping up everywhere:   “How are content marketing and SEO connected?” And my thoughts were, “Huh, aren’t they the same thing?” Then came Ms. Neha (our content marketing pro). She told us, “ Content marketing and SEO are like inseparable twins.” On cue, my confused intern brain: So… does that mean if I write a blog with SEO, it's like forgetting to switch on my mic in my Zoom class? My Big Realisation: The Food...
